In recent years, coffee shop or called “Kopitiam” has been populated in Penang and become part of life for many peoples. One of the recent coffee shops named “Roti Bakar Kopitiam” opened about two years ago in Penang at Plaza Ivory, Penang. They opened second branch in new shopping mall- Penang Times Square at Jln. Dato Keramat.  As the theme of the shops is Kopitiam, hence coffees served in the shops are first grade and good quality at reasonable price.

Fish Head Bee Hoon is one of dishes that sold at “Song Hoe” Hawker stalls. The key ingredients for the dish are the clear and sweet soup made by cooking chicken bones together with salty vegetables for few hours. Fragrance smell of the fish head soup attracting people’s appetite when served especially the fresh fish meat served together with the bee hoon. All the fresh fish are obtained from the sea area around Penang, there are fish like Garuppa. The meat is fresh and tender even though deep fried when served together with fragrance garlic. The owner insisted that every ingredients used are fresh and first grade. Each bowl of fish meat served is weighed and make sure the serving is correct. There’s a Hakka restaurant located at small lanes nearby Macalister road in Penang. It is an old fashioned house actually, the house exist before World War II and you would definitely don’t pay attention to it because it is low profile all the while. You might never pay attention to the restaurant although it has been opened for about a year plus. The restaurant doesn’t advertise or promote to the public so often.
