Recently there’s an article in The Star reporting about the Hui Sing Hawker Centre and the creative hawkers with its raw ambience.  This make me think of few years back, i been there for few times during my visit to Kuching. Be frank, i don’t have much impression when i paid the first visit there. To me, it is an old coffee shop with quite a numbers of chairs and tables around.

When read the newspaper, i felt that time really flies. The hawkers have been there since 1975, it is almost 35 years history. One of the stall owner, Mr. Goh who started the business 35 years back when he was only 21 years old, created two refreshments. One of his creations – a mix of longans, pineapples, mango juice and milk – he called White Lady.  He shared that ingredients came to his mind first later on followed by the name:) He also thought that the such a simple ingredients might not welcomed by customers but he was wrong that he managed to sell thoundsands over bowls for one night. He continued to sell white lady for past 35 years with started price at RM1.

Actually Mr. Goh has alot of thoughts in his business despite his modesty. This make his business continue growing until today. He think that White Lady would be a good drinks and suitable to take during night due to its less density. Besides, the cold drinks make people choose it. After that Mr. Goh think of something that will make people felt refresh during hot and sunny days. Matterhorn, the second creation of Mr. Goh, it is a high icy mountain on the Swiss-Italian border, which this refreshment resembled. The drinks later on become so popular that everyone who tasted it love it.
